Todd Hamlin, Total Futbol
Todd grew up playing soccer in the Chantilly, VA area and began coaching in 2004. He currently holds a US Soccer Federation National “A” License as well as an NSCAA "Premier" License. He played collegiately at George Mason University. He also holds an NSCAA Regional Goalkeeping Diploma.
He is the Assistant Director of Total Futbol and joined the company in 2007. Todd currently leads the Herndon United/Storm '99 program as well as the Herndon Hurricanes ('02) program. Working with these teams since 2011, he has molded them into some of the strongest programs in the area. United and Storm compete at the Regional level and Hurricanes Black is among the strongest teams in it's age group.
Over the years Todd has gained extensive experience working with teams of all ages and levels. He has won Division 1 of both NCSL and WAGS as a Head Coach and has guided numerous other teams up multiple divisions in their respective leagues while teaching them to play a beautiful possession style of the game. He believes strongly in the technical development of individual players while developing their tactical ideas to function effectively in a team environment. Todd has also served as an Assistant Coach on many of Total Futbol’s highest level teams, helping them capture multiple State and Division 1 Championships.
His experience also includes Head Coach of a national finalist Super Y team, working with the Virginia Youth Soccer Association ODP program, and coaching high school soccer at WT Woodson HS in Fairfax, VA. With the ODP program, Todd has served as a Staff Coach with the Academy program which focuses on preparing players in the U10-U12 age groups for their future in ODP. In his 2 years at Woodson as the JV Head Coach and Assistant to the Varsity team, Todd saw many of his players move on from JV to Varsity and immediately contribute to the team. At the same time, his JV teams were very successful, culminating in his 2nd year at the school where he guided his squad to the best record in the Liberty District by going undefeated District games.
